About Anna
I am currently in my final year studying Textile Design at Nottingham Trent University. I specialise in print as part of my course. I feel that I am extremely keen on pursuing a career in design and feel the need to explore the workings of the industry. I am particularly interested in interior textile design but recently have created work for a brief set by ANN INC; a fashion retail group based in New York. My work is all about creating beautiful, creative and cohesive collections as well as keeping in mind the responsibilities of a designer. I feel that I can turn my hand to anything, I enjoy designing for all purposes and feel open minded, enthusiastic and enthralled as a young designer to the prospect of a career in design.
My work currently surrounds ideas of interior design for healthcare units such as hospitals, care homes and places of health and wellbeing. Integrating the knowledge I have as a textile designer with the knowledge of psychologists and architects, I am building a breadth of research for the project. I have chosen this topic because I feel there is something so interesting in the concept of creating 'healthy spaces' alongside giving an interior space more meaning. I like to use a natural, instinctive approach to drawing and designing. Combining digital design with the lovely organic artwork from my sketchbook, I feel my work has a very strong sense of style. Challenging myself and pushing boundaries is always something I try to achieve in each project. Everything I create is original and comes from my everyday surroundings. As a young designer I like to observe, develop and learn from my mistakes. Please take a look at this website. I hope you enjoy this little snippet of my portfolio of work. |
